A New Era in the Auction Business

We all have something to learn about auctions. It makes no difference if you never attended an auction or never participated in an online auction or you are a seasoned veteran of both. Today is a new day in the auction industry. No one heard of an “ONLINE AUCTION” until recently. Those seasoned pro’s who come to the auction house on a Saturday, to see their friends, to catch up on the gossip around town and moreover, to get some real bargains, may have to catch up with technology. Those who are use to the online auction, and chose to attend a live auction at our auction house will have to learn how to listen to the chant of the bid calling by the auctioneer. And we at Royal Auctions will have to learn to use the technology of the internet and the new software we had custom built to assist our sellers and buyers in the coming new age. We will be patient with you and assist in any way we can. We ask the same of you, our customer while we learn to use this software.

LIVE AUCTIONS:

For over forty years I have been attending estate auctions, equipment auctions, and antique auctions. I believe the number one reason people either: (1) don't come to an auction, or (2) if they do come, won't bid, is because they are afraid they are going to buy something that they don't want and/or pay too much for it. We hear people joke about someone scratching their ear or maybe even waving hello to their friend at an auction, and the auctioneer mistakes this jester as bidding. You have nothing to worry about. As professional auctioneers we know the difference between talking, waving hello and when you are bidding. If we don’t we will ask you. Oh, we may have a little fun and make you believe you have won the bid for a million dollars, when we know you were just waving to your friend. Surely, you wouldn’t want you to deny us having a little fun. By the way, if you happen to be waving and an auctioneer has a little fun with you, it is because they like you. Check out our auction calendar.

Another concern among new bidders; they are afraid that they won't know what the auctioneer is saying. At Royal Auction, we pride ourselves on being understood. We understand that communication is most important in any business transaction. We understand that this is a problem unique to our business. If you should not understand the bid, ask your neighbor. If they won’t help (which is almost impossible) or they don’t know yell out and ask the auctioneer, “What’s the bid”. This is very common. Be that as it may, at Royal Auctions we make it a point to work on our clarity in our bid calling so everyone understands the bid. Come on out we will be glad to assist.

ONLINE AUCTIONS:

Don’t have a computer, No Problem:

For our regular auction attendee’s who are deathly afraid of a computer; don’t worry. We intend to make the change over to our online auctions program as easy a transition as possible. If you don’t have a computer come on out to the fairgrounds and take a bidders form, walk around the auction house, kick the tires and write the item number down of the item you what. You will need to let us know what the most you are willing to pay for the item by filling in the box on the bidder form. Give a staff member your filled in form and we will enter it into the computer for you. You can call us the next day to see how you did. It is that easy!

I have a computer but don’t know!

If you have a computer and need some help, that also is no problem. Come to the office and someone on the staff will assist you. We will show you how to log into our website at http://www.royalauctions.com. How to sign in. It is as easy as registering at the auction house on auction night. You will be assigned a bidder number, which will be your permanent number, and then you can start bidding, just like at the auction house. You will have the remainder of the day to watch your bid and see how well you do. If someone out bids you, you will be able to see it on the screen. At that time you may increase your bid or bid on something else, you decide. No, different than at the auction house.

BUSINESS DECISION:

As business people we must change or die. Technology is not a bad thing. It allows us to conduct auctions all over the world. No matter what comes up especially those things we can’t control, the auction will go on. The first thing that comes to mind is the weather. There can be six inches of ice on the ground or a hurricane coming and you can bid from the comfort of your warm home (or office when the boss is not looking). You can still come to the auction house and inspect the items or you can look at the pictures and descriptions online, and place your bid. If you are the high bidder you can pick them up at the auction house or we can have them shipped to you. We have daily UPS pick up or send you a load by common carrier. If you have a large enough load we can send them on our trailers. Packing and crating services are available. If you want to buy a particular item and can’t pick it up right away (going on vacation) we will have storage services available as well.

Online Auction Problems Don’t Exist Here:

The problems you would have buying from some of the larger online auctions are greatly diminished with Royal Auction Services, Inc. As a professional auction company we will describe each item with care. If we know something about the item we will tell you. If we don’t we will tell you that also. If you should have a specific question about an item, send us an email or call.

Moreover, the major thing that makes us different from the larger online auctions, you won’t hear about us selling something and not delivering it. Of course, we expect you to pay for the items and pay the shipping if applicable, and then you will receive your merchandise. We recommend you read our auction news segment (http://www.royalauctions.com) to keep up with current events in the auction world and what to be wary of. We are professional auctioneers that you can sit down with, have a conversation over a cup of coffee. We are not some username in the sky. Come, check us out and introduce yourself, we look forward to meeting all of our customers. To get to know us better visit our about us page
